Involving corporations in their roles as philanthropic institutions is an integral part of BRTA/LRTA's mission. Philanthropy plays a crucial role in dislodging complacency toward the HIV/AIDS pandemic that has become apparent in recent years. Mobilizing resources in all sectors-from public to private-can fight this complacency by addressing unmet domestic and global needs.
A robust, multi-level response to HIV/AIDS involves active partnerships between corporations, local business, labor and community organizations and government. Such partnerships will widen the reach and appeal of programs, leverage resources, compress timeframes and accelerate successful outcomes.
BRTA/LRTA is committed to providing support to workplaces interested in initiating or expanding their HIV philanthropic efforts. The BLRS, our centralized information and referral service, can link business and labor leaders with resources designed to help them prepare to manage philanthropic HIV/AIDS initiatives.
